Presenters
Bara Sapir is the Founder & Executive Director of Test Prep New York/TPNY, a full service Manhattan-based private tutoring and test preparation company. TPNY is the only educational company to combine traditional test prep and subject tutoring with personal empowerment coaching. With almost 20 years experience in the industry, she has developed learning systems that infuse learning academic material with valuable focus, retention and confidence-building techniques as well as potent methods to eliminate test anxiety. She is the creator of SAT/ACT MindFlow (www.mindflowclass.com), a 5-hour course which combines speed reading, test taking strategy and positive mindset, the Full Potential Audio program, a 5+ hour audio program used in conjunction with studying to help students achieve peak performance, and the co-author of a GMAT book being published by Nova Press, available early next year. Sapir holds Masters Degrees in Art History and Education, and certification in Hypnosis, Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Reiki and Integrated Life Coaching. She has been featured in CosmoGirl!, Women's World, Positive Thinking, and Women's World as an expert in test preparation and peak performance.
Deena Maerowitz Deena has worked with private clients in both Manhattan, Brooklyn and Connecticut, helping them throughout the entire college admissions process. Her clients have been admitted to both Ivy League and top tier colleges throughout the United States. Prior to becoming a parent herself, Deena was the Associate Director of Admissions at Columbia University Business School. Deena graduated magna cum laude from Mount Holyoke College and received her law degree (J.D.) and Master’s Degree in Social Work (M.S.W) from the University of Connecticut. Deena is also a seasoned attorney and social worker with over 15 years of experience as an advocate for children and their families. Deena has held positions as Counsel in the U.S. Congress, where she focused on education issues, as well as in the private sector and for national public interest organizations including the Children’s Defense Fund. She has been quoted in the New York Times, Teen Vogue, and Newsweek as an expert on college admissions issues.
Deena holds Professional Membership in the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA) and is also a Member of the Association of International Graduate Admissions Consultants and the National Association for College Admissions Counseling (NACAC). Deena currently splits her time between her office inBrooklyn, NY and Ridgefield, CT.

Sandra Clifton After teaching high school English, speech, and drama for ten years, Sandra moved to New York City to join the team at Prep for Prep, a non-profit organization that prepares talented scholars for placement in independent schools. Sandra continued her role as an educator at the Professional Children’s School, Poly Prep Country Day, and Packer Collegiate Institute while becoming an ICF-accredited life coach. Sandra was then certified in Emotional Literacy by Yale University and served as a Program Coach and Master Trainer in the Catholic Schools of Brooklyn. In 2006, Sandra opened the Clifton Corner: An Academic Coaching Center, in Park Slope. This is a safe space of learning to support overwhelmed students who struggle with issues of perfection,
